12/10/2023 0 Comments Vox day alt rightThe earliest version of “accelerationism” was, ironically enough, in some ways a celebration of the status quo. “It’s an ideology that has actually manifested in real-world violence.” “It’s not an ideology that exists in a theoretical sense,” says Joanna Mendelson, a senior investigative researcher at the Anti-Defamation League. But as strange as the racist movement’s intellectual history may be, experts believe it has played a significant and under-appreciated role in the current wave of extremist violence. The ultimate goal is to collapse the government itself they hope for a white-dominated future after that.Īccelerationism has bizarre roots in academia. Their preferred tactic for heightening these contradictions, however, is not voting, but violence - attacking racial minorities and Jews as a way of bringing us closer to a race war, and using firearms to spark divisive fights over gun control. If one votes, one should vote for the most extreme candidate, left or right, to intensify points of political and social conflict within Western societies. Accelerationist ideas have been cited in mass shooters’ manifestos - explicitly, in the case of the New Zealand killer - and are frequently referenced in white supremacist web forums and chat rooms.Īccelerationists reject any effort to seize political power through the ballot box, dismissing the alt-right’s attempts to engage in mass politics as pointless. As a result, the best thing white supremacists can do is accelerate their demise by sowing chaos and creating political tension. It’s called “accelerationism,” and it rests on the idea that Western governments are irreparably corrupt. But many of these suspected killers, from Atomwaffen thugs to the New Zealand mosque shooter to the Poway synagogue attacker, are more tightly connected to a newer and more radical white supremacist ideology, one that dismisses the alt-right as cowards unwilling to take matters into their own hands. These killings were often linked to the alt-right, described as an outgrowth of the movement’s rise in the Trump era. In late July, FBI Director Christopher Wray reported that the FBI had made as many domestic terrorism arrests in 2019 as it did in all of 2018 - and further, that “a majority of the domestic terrorism cases that we’ve investigated are motivated by some version of what you might call white supremacist violence.” It was followed in April by another attack on an American synagogue (this time in Poway, California), and an August 2019 shooting at an El Paso Walmart that was one of the most brutal attacks targeting Hispanics in US history. The March 2019 Islamophobic attack on mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, was the deadliest mass shooting in the country’s history. The October 2018 shooting at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue was the deadliest act of anti-Semitic violence in American history. Atomwaffen celebrated Woodward by making T-shirts emblazoned with his mugshot.īernstein’s 2018 slaying marked the beginning of an extraordinary period of white supremacist violence - a spate of murders and mass shootings that has continued through this year. The local Jewish community center celebrated Bernstein’s memory by naming its cooking school in his honor. He was arrested he pleaded not guilty and is still awaiting trial. They learned that Woodward was a member of Atomwaffen Division - one of the most extreme neo-Nazi groups in the country. He had been stabbed 19 times in the neck.Īuthorities quickly identified Woodward as a suspect and found Bernstein’s blood in his car and on a knife in his possession. Less than a week later, investigators discovered Bernstein’s body in the park, hidden by a tree branch and a mound of dirt. The two had planned to hang out at a local park.īernstein, who was gay and Jewish, texted friends that he and Woodward were meeting for a sexual encounter. When he didn’t respond, they checked his Snapchat account and found messages between their son and Sam Woodward, a former high school classmate. On the morning of January 2, his parents noticed that he’d left their house in the Orange County community of Foothill Ranch and tried to contact him. It’s a position he ended up never filling. Blaze Bernstein, age 19 at the time of his murder, loved to cook.īefore he traveled back to his home in California for the 2017-’18 winter break, the University of Pennsylvania sophomore had been elected managing editor of a campus cooking publication called Penn Appétit. 12/10/2023 0 Comments Curved architect rulersThe original structure can be traced back to the 11th century, but it was Diane de Poitiers, the mistress of Henry II, who commissioned Philibert de L'Orme to build the castle’s hallmark feature, the arched bridge, in the 16th century.įrom one powerful woman to another, Catherine de' Medici made Chenonceau her favorite residence after the death of the king in 1559. The tall turrets give in-depth architectural lessons on the ornate styles that reigned during that time and beyond. Their fabled halls give insight into the triumphs (and tragedies) of their rulers while the intricate frescoes and tiles decorating the grand banquet rooms honor the greatest artists of that time. That said, the A14 Bionic is still believed to be the fastest mobile processor by a margin, so it’s not like Apple has anything to worry about on the performance front as of now. Compared to the iPhone 11’s A13 Bionic, this year’s A14 Bionic chip shows between 10-20% improvement in CPU performance and under 10% bump in GPU speeds, possibly revealing exactly why Apple compared the new A14 Bionic to the two-year-old A12 rather than the A13 from last year. Do note that the entire iPhone 12 lineup is powered by the same processor (A14 Bionic), so any fluctuation in scores between the four models is likely to be relatively minor.Īs pointed out by GSMArena, these scores are higher than the ones from Apple’s 2019 flagships, but not by much. Pacific Time.As for the performance figures, various listings for the iPhone 12 devices show single-core scores between 1,555 and 1,605, while the multi-core scores seem to fluctuate between as low as 2,525 and as high as 4,144. The new iPhones are set to be available for pre-order on Friday, September 17 at 5:00 a.m. With the iPhone 13 lineup set to launch next week and soon to be in the hands of reviewers, we won't have to wait too much longer to get additional benchmarks of the A15 that will give us more insight into its overall performance. To make sure the results accurately reflect the average performance of each GPU, the chart only includes GPUs with at least five unique results in the Geekbench Browser. The data on this chart is calculated from Geekbench 6 results users have uploaded to the Geekbench Browser. The iPad mini has the same A15 chip with 5-core GPU that's in the iPhone 13 Pro models, so we can expect the same graphics performance from Apple's updated tablet. Welcome to the Geekbench OpenCL Benchmark Chart. Apple has said little about the A15's CPU, and rather than comparing it to the A14, Apple instead pointed out that it's "up to 50% faster" than the competition. No one has benchmarked one of the standard iPhone 13 models so we don't know how they compare to the prior-generation A14, nor do we have a benchmark of the CPU to compare CPU performance between the A14 and A15. The iPhone 13 and 13 mini have 4GB RAM. The benchmark also confirms that the Pro models feature 6GB RAM as was already seen in Xcode. The iPhone 13 and 13 mini are equipped with a 4-core GPU, while the higher-end iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have a 5-core GPU.Īpple has called the A15 chip with the 5-core GPU in the Pro models the "world's fastest smartphone chip," and says that it delivers "up to 50% faster graphics performance than any other smartphone chip." Given the difference demonstrated in Metal scores, that appears to be accurate, with the A15 in the Pro models outperforming the A14. Both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro devices have the same CPU, but there are differences when it comes to GPU. The iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone14,2, earned a Metal score of 14216, a 55 percent increase compared to the 9123 Metal score earned by the iPhone 12 Pro.Īpple's iPhone 13 models feature an A15 chip with 6 CPU cores, including two performance cores and four efficiency cores. Someone has benchmarked the GPU performance of the iPhone 13 Pro, and there's a significant performance increase compared to the prior-generation iPhone 12 Pro. Just a day after the iPhone 13 models were announced by Apple, the first Geekbench score has already surfaced. 12/10/2023 0 Comments Aim specialty health prior auth formView the Cardiac Services Checklist and Cardiac Services Tip Sheet to learn more about prior authorization requirements.īeginning May 1, 2016, some groups will require National Imaging Associates (NIA) Magellan Healthcare Inc. Therefore again, head to the Mahahual beach - it's 20 min walk or 10$ taxi ride. The cruise port doesn't have its beach, in fact I saw one from the ship but it seems it's not operational as there was noone there all the time. You have both of them (the pool and drinks) couple hundred meters away on your ship for free, and in the end, who desires a pool on Caribbean? So, head to the Mahahual beach. They have a big nice pool, but to use it you must purchase again inflated priced drinks. Considering shopping there the only bargain place is a Diamond center, where you can buy tax free jewelry and watches (the watch I bought in Miami was 20% cheaper here). You can find them double cheaper if you go to Mahahual beach.Ģ. But, the establishments set in them sell overpriced drinks, food, souvenirs and touristy stuff at inflated prices. The architecture is nice - it's kind a theme-park style houses in Mayan style set in a maze of little alleys. There are two positive things I can say about this port:ġ. One of the guys said that if you get wet right away then the sand flies don't bother you.but if you lay on the beach with dry skin they get on you. I would recommend you take bug spray.since I did get bit by "sand flies", which itched the rest of my cruise. We did not spend money renting chairs and such. We spent our time with these two things and it was time to go back on board. There is some coral/brown areas, but it's a very nice beach you can swim in / snorkel and look at fish, etc. The beach has white sand and super clear water. In reality you can almost walk there.so you may want to consider walking back on the return if you want to save the return taxi fare. The cheaper taxis are $2 per person and can drive you to "Blue Caye Beach", which is what I would recommend. Once you leave the Costa Maya touristy area.and "pass" the first parking lot, you are able to exit and take taxis for half the price. We loved the views from the top too and were able to take amazing photos. We went to the Aviary for $12 per adult and $10 per child where they give you some food and you get to see many different type of birds (even an owl) through different sections of their net protected upper floor bird habitats. We went on a New Years Cruise a week ago and loved this stop. 12/9/2023 0 Comments Typo on resume"It's important to remember that there is a whole set of norms which shape how we 'should' write a CV, but these aren't necessarily conducive to accessibility and equitable recruitment, particularly for candidates with dyslexia, for example," she said.
